Don’t Scare the Lion Within

Aslan was a curious five-year-old boy with big eyes. The times he spent with his mother were the most precious moments in the world for him. His mother was supportive of his curiosity. One day, while preparing breakfast with his mother, he saw two cups of tea on the table. Tea was his mother's favorite drink. Aslan on the other hand was always drinking milk at breakfast. Drinking tea was a very rare treat to him. He didn’t ask who the other tea was for.

"Aslan, would you like to drink tea too?" his mother asked, looking at him lovingly.

Aslan nodded his head in surprise. His mother took out a small cup and poured Aslan some tea. Steam was rising from the cup. Aslan impatiently held the cup and took a sip.

"Careful, it's hot!" his mother said. But it was too late. Aslan had already taken a sip. He suddenly pulled back. His eyes were wide with shock and his lips were trembling.

He dropped the cup on the floor. "It's too hot!" he shouted.

The glass shattered on the floor.

Thinking that his mother would yell at him, Aslan was surprised to get the opposite reaction;

His mother smiled and said softly, "Let me show you how to cool down the tea…” She slowly began to blow on the tea. Aslan watched his mother carefully. Then he tried to drink the tea in the same way. This time it didn't hurt.

Everyone can make mistakes, the important thing is to learn from them.

“I'm a grown up! I'm drinking tea!” Aslan thought to himself.

Everything was new to him; how exciting it was to grow and discover!

That morning, they had a long conversation at the breakfast table. Aslan told how he had made new friends. His mother shared her childhood memories with him.

These moments, shared over some hot tea, were unforgettable for Aslan.

Finally, when they finished their tea, his mother turned to him and said: “Sometimes you might make some small mistakes like this while growing up. But the important thing is to learn from everything that happens to us.”

Aslan thought about his mother's words and nodded with a sincere smile.

That day, Aslan learned not only how to drink tea, but also how to be patient, how to learn from his experiences and much more...

Years and years passed. Aslan remembered that day again and asked his mother the following question.

“Mom, why didn't you get angry with me the day I broke your favorite teacup?”

“If I had been angry with you that day, I would have scared that little lion in you and you would have lost your courage to learn, to discover in life.”

Getting angry and being frustrated with people for their mistakes does not solve our problems in life.

The Experiential Design Teaching says: “There is a difference between bringing up and raising children.” The key to raising a child is to act according to their needs rather than our desires.

To know the answer ask that "one" person!"
